Chilling fear and pain have penetrated me & kept me. The unthawing part of this is difficult to adjust to, or even hard to trust at times. Asking for His help, He has a way of penetrating it all and with His healing, He can bring beauty, even here.

While praying at night, I had gotten into the habit of holding a small crucifix. One particularly difficult night as I prayed I had asked: “Where am I in all of this darkness Lord?”His response: “to Whom and what are you holding onto?” I had forgotten I was still clutching the Crucifix in my hand and as I realized this, I answered: “To You Lord, I’m holding onto You.” The strength and peace He had given me in that moment, enabled me to trust and allow Him to pull me through all of the turmoil. The movement and color in this painting is symbolic of Him pulling me through the difficulties and drawing me closer to Him.

When you begin to realize and take in the Sacrificial love Jesus has displayed on the Cross, there are no words really, just true adoration. To be drawn into His light, then to simply love and adore Him. The colors chosen, the light filtering in and even the thorns on the branches depict the scene of the most Holy of Days.

A reprieve from the frantic pace of my day. A moment to slip away and not get caught up in it all, but to get caught up in Him.

After experiencing difficulties in life, a question came to my mind: How did we get through that Lord? How did we manage to hold together? My answer came with the sound of waves lapping against a boat and the understanding that we had all been with Him during the rough waters, that He had been guiding us all along.

As I read in the evening about Jesus’ protectiveness of the Temple, Mt. 21:12-19. and continued on reading 1Cor. 2:16, I discover in these two passages that I am a Temple of God and I feel deeply cherished and protected.
To drive this point home, after receiving Him in the Eucharist the following morning, I hear God speak within my heart: “How lovely is your dwelling place”. Amazed and graciously received, thank you Lord.
I later look up what the term dwelling place actually means to go deeper into this and it states: the place where someone lives. Connecting all this back with God, simply beautiful.
The colors used in this painting depict the beauty I realize.

Definition of Embark: to begin a journey..whether that’s a new career or a new phase in life, there is always excitement and wonder of what is to come.
To have God by your side as your anchoring point and your companion on that journey makes all the difference and scatters the fears.

When there is a sunrise in progress
and time allows, I will grab my camera
and drive out into the countryside.
As I watch the sunrise develop
and take it all in, it’s like a big inhale,
a recollection of His promises
of a new day, a new beginning and
the daily choice of choosing Him.

Day after day, I can feel quite ordinary; a wife, Mom, daughter, sister and friend. In one revelation though, You show me who I am to You: a beloved daughter of a King. As I reverence You in bowing my head after Communion in gratitude at this realization, You in return show reverence and love toward me. I chose this depiction of a swan because in all their gracefulness, swans have always been a favorite of mine. This scene, captured originally by a photographer, shows the grace the Lord allowed me to feel that morning at Mass. Beautiful, loved and peace-filled.

completely detached of worry and fear?… that is almost impossible to imagine, and yet it is to come. Day by day we get closer to this reality. As I come to realize and release my own burdens, I feel just how heavy they were to carry. Letting light seep into these once occupied areas is in a word, peace.
